Bridge History - Did you know that our neighborhood Buffalo Bridge has an interesting history? The original bridge was privately built and financed out-of-pocket by a private citizen, Mr. Hugh Wilkins, for $75,000 in exchange for the City of
Houston to pave some of the streets in Braes Terrace.
Wilkins was the developer of Braes Terrace 1 and Braes Terrace 2 who built it because he needed a way for people to get to his new developments. [more info coming soon..]
